Our Mission
Founded by a stage four metastatic breast cancer patient whose cancer was missed on a routine mammogram, the Second Look Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that no woman is falsely reassured by a normal result. We believe every woman deserves access to the education, resources, and tools she needs to advocate for herself, and to get the second look that could save her life.

Mammograms miss approximately 1 in 8 breast cancers overall, and women with dense breasts face a significantly higher likelihood of a false-negative result, meaning their cancer goes undetected even with a “normal” mammogram.
